Bio

Paul Evans is the Associate Director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and an Instructor for the Department of Entrepreneurship in the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University (TCU). He received his Master’s of Science in Entrepreneurship and his BA in Business Administration from the University of Florida. Following graduation, Paul partnered with a professor in the Computer and Information Science department at UF and built a stand-alone social network for K-12 students to be used as a supplement to college and job applications. Paul continued his career in the private sector following this venture, working for the largest affiliate marketing company in the United States and then moving to the largest publisher of lifestyle brands and content. His teaching career began when he was recruited to build the entrepreneurship program and finance academy at Immokalee High School. While at Immokalee High School, Paul helped students start Taste of Immokalee, a salsa company which eventually became a certified “B Corp” and is now in over 350 Publix Supermarkets along the East coast. Paul still sits on the board for Taste of Immokalee and chairs the Strategic Planning Committee.

Paul was recruited from Immokalee High School by the Director of the Entrepreneurship program at Florida Gulf Coast University. He transitioned to higher education where he taught the Introduction to Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurship & Creativity, Launching your Business, Innovation by Design and Entrepreneurial Mindset courses, having developed the last two. His Entrepreneurial Mindset course became the fastest growing, and most popular, undergraduate class in their major. Paul also was heavily involved in the programmatic development at FGCU where he helped build the Runway Program, Veteran’s Program, Pick up the Ball Program (program for at-risk youth), taught and developed courses for the Adult Completion program, and co-developed the first digital badge certificate at FGCU for Entrepreneurial Mindset.

From FGCU, Paul transitioned to the role of Associate Director of the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and Instructor for the Dept. of Entrepreneurship at TCU. Here Paul teaches the New Venture Development and Entrepreneurial Opportunity Recognition courses while building and managing programs within the Institute, including our internal accelerator program, CREATE. Outside of his work at TCU, Paul currently sits on the board of Sparkyard, an entrepreneurial resource database serving the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and is involved in numerous other community-facing organizations.
