Dave Malenfant, director of outreach and partnerships at the Center for Supply Chain Innovation at the TCU Neeley School of Business, shared his expertise with WFAA on how the pandemic and severe weather have impacted the supply chain and businesses.

“What we’ve seen in the United States the last few years, there have been more disruptions than I’ve seen in a very, very long time,” Malenfant said. “The links in the supply chain are just broken.”

Malenfant added that food and retail are taking the biggest hits. “Costs are skyrocketing with supply going to the highest bidder and the issue started even before the pandemic,” he said.

He explained, “If one of those links breaks, then the whole supply chain falls apart and we’re constantly seeing something break in the supply chain.”

The story also featured Hiram Hartnett, vice president of sales at Pegasus Logistics, and Scott Price, UPS international president.
