Professor of Professional Practice in Business Information Systems Beata Jones was awarded one of TCU’s highest honors bestowed to faculty at 2021 Commencement.

Beata Jones has spent 24 years teaching at TCU, where her joy of providing engaging and relevant courses that require students to practice higher-order critical thinking has a life-changing impact on her students and fellow faculty.
At Spring 2021 Commencement, Chancellor Victor Boschini named Beata Jones, professor of professional practice in business information systems at the TCU Neeley School of Business, among this year’s select three honorees from professors all across campus for the TCU Dean’s Teaching Award. The Deans’ Award is among the highest honors bestowed to faculty at the university level and represents the extraordinary academic accomplishments by TCU’s talented faculty.
Jones continuously researches and implements pedagogy and learning strategies to enhance students’ learning experiences. She has developed 11 new business information systems courses at TCU Neeley, for which she won the best paper award. Jones is also the founding director of the Neeley Fellows business honors program, and spent three years as an Honors Faculty Fellow in the John V. Roach Honors College, where she refined strategies to help students develop intercultural competence.
“Teaching to me is being an artist, an essayist and a scientist all in one, orchestrating a class, considering the profile of students, and researching course design, pedagogy and learning,” Jones said.
