LKCM Named TCU Neeley Alumni Business of the Year

TCU Neeley honored LKCM for the company’s long-lasting success and ongoing support of TCU Neeley students, alumni and programs.

Luther King Capital Management was honored as the 2018-19 TCU Neeley Alumni Business of the Year, bestowed on a business owned by alumni or having TCU alumni in executive leadership roles, with shared values and a commitment to supporting TCU through employment, investment and volunteer participation. 

LKCM is a top supporter of TCU Neeley through partnerships, internships, programs, board stewardship, hiring graduates, and the LKCM Center for Financial Studies. LKCM was founded in 1979 by J. Luther King Jr, who earned his undergraduate and graduate business degrees from the TCU Neeley School of Business. Today, LKCM has $14.5 billion in assets under management.

“Luther King Capital Management has opened so many doors for our finance students through the years; the company truly understands and lives the expression ‘Paying It Forward,’” said O. Homer Erekson, the John V. Roach Dean of the Neeley School of Business at TCU. 

The LKCM Center for Financial Studies at TCU Neeley was made possible in 2002 through a generous endowment from LKCM. The center provides resources, conferences and programs to enhance the academics and careers of TCU Neeley finance students, faculty and industry professionals. 

The firm has provided TCU Neeley students with hundreds of internships over the years, which has launched hundreds of careers in financial services. LKCM also provides scholarships, helps fund programs and activities, and loans employees to teach graduate and undergraduate investment classes.

J. Luther King TCU BSC ’62 MBA ’66, has guided, advised, supported and championed hundreds of TCU Neeley students since opening his firm in 1979. Though he’ll be the first to say that their success is their own, they know his mentorship is priceless. 

LKCM’s 86 employees include 50 investment and other professionals, 32 CFAs, seven CPAs and 32 employees with MBA degrees.
