The accounting faculty welcomed new Assistant Professor Karson Fronk to the department in August. Fronk comes to TCU from the University of Georgia, where he completed his doctorate in accounting in May. Fronk also holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Brigham Young University.
Fronk’s primary teaching areas include financial accounting and data analytics. His research interests include voluntary disclosure, data visualization, and innovation disclosure. In July, Fronk’s paper entitled “Data visualization in 10-K filings” was accepted for publication in the Journal of Accounting and Economics, a premier accounting journal. The paper examines firms’ use of infographics in their Form 10-Ks, a form that presents the financial picture of a company, and the relation between the use of infographics and uncertainty in capital markets.
We are excited to have Fronk join the department, and look forward to great things from him in both teaching and research.
