Abbie Shipp, chair of the management and leadership department, is now the M.J. Neeley Professor of Management.

Abbie Shipp has been named the M.J. Neeley Professor of Management at the TCU Neeley School of Business. Shipp is also chair of the Department of Management and Leadership and recently was honored with the TCU Deans’ Award for Research and Creative Activity.
Shipp joined TCU Neeley in 2012 and has an excellent record of research in organizational behavior published in leading management journals. She researches how people think about and use time at work, including person-environment fit over time, trajectories of employee engagement, and leading change. She currently is an associate editor of Academy of Management Review, one of the premier management journals in the world.
In addition to her notable research, Shipp is a well-liked and respected teacher. She was named Favorite Professor in 2020, 2019, 2017, 2016, 2015 and 2014 by TCU MBA students. She was honored as Outstanding Undergraduate Teacher (core) in 2017.
“Dr. Shipp’s contributions as a teacher and scholar include an impressive research record, excellence in the classroom, curricular innovation at all levels, and outstanding service to the profession and TCU,” said Daniel Pullen, the John V. Roach Dean of the Neeley School of Business.
Shipp holds a PhD from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and an MBA and BSBA from Oklahoma State University.
